Month 19

Dear Little Man

A few days ago, ok, fine, a week ago, you turned 19 months old. I was home with you on that day to celebrate, because I had been sick with the flu the entire week, and then that day, daddy got sick too and needed me to help him that day. I bore you with these details because it leads up to that Sunday night. Your Gramma S came by and we went to Wal Mart with her. I should have realized something was up because you fell asleep in the cart leaning against Gramma. When we got home, you were very hot. I took your temperature and it was 102.6. You have never been sick before, so your daddy humoured me and we bundled you up and took you to the outpatients department of the hospital. The nurse gave me some medicine to bring your fever down and you did not like it. The next thing I know, you were throwing up all over the place. That was the first time in your life, aside from a little spit up when you were a baby, that you have ever thrown up. It freaked me out, but you handled it like a little trooper. They said you were fine and your fever started to come down and we took you home. You were sick for only a couple of days, but you are still coughing a bit. All in all, not bad for having made it 19 months before you first got sick.

Seeing that it is now almost time for your 20 month letter by the time I found the time to get back to this one, I am going to leave this as it and go on to the next one. You, Daddy and work keep me very busy. I have wanted to do this type of thing for a while now, but never seem to find the time to do it. I am very sorry about that, because I have probably missed recording a lot of things that would be fun to go back and read in a few years. I will try to do better for you from now on.

Love,
Mummy
