You're so pretty

First off, I know, I know, I'm waaayy overdue for the newsletter for this month. I am working on it and it will be up shortly.

Last night I was worried about what I was going to do with my hair for K's graduation Thursday night, since my regular girl doesn't have an opening for a cut until, get this, JULY 28th! JULY 28th! is too far away and obivously not going to help me for the graduation on JUNE 28th. So I set out this week to find someone in town who will not charge me an arm and a leg to get it straightened for the evening. I called the shop that I once went to and they said $20 if your hair is clean and dried when you get here, add $16 to that if you need it washed and dried also. Steep. I then called another shop and they were $20 to wash, dry and straighten, but didn't have any openings. Crap. So then I called another place, co-owned by a woman who was in our pre-natal class. It wasn't her that I was speaking to, but they will do the full treatment for $10, just the straightening for $5. WOW! Guess where I am going?

So, back to the GH part. He was listening to me worry about how my hair is looking lately, because it is getting longer and doing the middle split, bottom fuzzy thing it tends to do. He looked at me and said "You're so pretty" and then "I like your hair, but if you want to get it cut short again, that's ok." I love this man. I know how much he likes my hair when it's longer, but if it will make me happy to cut it, that's fine with him. I know that it is my hair and all, but still, it's nice. I don't want to go back to short hair, because I have a style that I am aiming for and it is shoulder length. It's just this darn growing out period that sucks. Really, it looks like my hair was sucked at the roots to my cheekbone level, then it puffs out down past my shoulders. So he must really be great and love me lots if he thinks that is attractive! Of course, I am always way harder on myself than he is on me.

Weekend Recap

We had a pretty good weekend, it seemed longer than two days and that is usually always nice. Little Man slept in until almost 8am Saturday morning, so I got the treat of doing so also. K and M were supposed to be here this weekend, but K had plans to pick berries to make some money for her appartment and M wanted to hang out with his friends. Can't say I blame him, since he is moving here in three weeks.

So Saturday we got ready and went to the Valley and had lunch at Grandparent H's. Great Hubby and his dad went to a church sale and GH bought himself a mitre saw and three fruit trees, apple we think. These things were quite big, over 4 feet per tree. We left them out of the ground Saturday night to allow time to plan where they were going to be planted. On Sunday, we finally came up with a spot to put one of them, so GH and LM planted the tree while I was mowing the lawn. GH said that LM was helping him, so I said that I would record it as the first time he helped plant a tree. Yay LM!

Sunday was spent with me mowing the lawn and the boys doing other stuff around the yard. GH finally figured out where to put the other two trees (locations changed several times in 24 hours). I did not get the whole yard done, I gave out around 5 or so. Of course it had to be the front that I didn't get to and now it has rained all day, so it is going to be fairly long by the time I get back to it. Hopefully tomorrow will be dry and I will finish it off.

Wow, writing it out like that, it sounds pretty boring, but it wasn't.
